Celebrating Trailblazing Women of Bloomsbury

An Exclusive Collaboration with Fee Greening

As a tribute to the remarkable yet often overlooked women of Bloomsbury who helped shape the fight for women’s rights in Britain, Kimpton Fitzroy London has partnered with illustrator Fee Greening to create a limited-edition set of three bespoke fine bone china plates. Each piece celebrates a pioneering woman of the 1900s – Princess Sophia Duleep Singh, Sarah Parker Remond, and Christina Rossetti – honouring their enduring legacy.

A Place At The Table

Inspired by the Bloomsbury Group’s Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant’s 1932 collection of hand painted fine bone china plates “The Famous Women’s Dinner Service”, this project brings history full circle. Celebrating the lives of Christina Rossetti, Sarah Parker Remond, and Princess Sophia Duleep Singh – three pioneering women whose connection to Bloomsbury runs deep.

Rossetti lived at 30 Torrington Square, Bloomsbury and Remond at 6 Grenville Street, Bloomsbury – both just a short stroll from Kimpton Fitzroy London. Today, Blue Plaques mark some of these addresses – lasting reminders of the legacy that continues to shape the area we call home. Singh spent much of her time in Bloomsbury with her mentor Emmeline Pankhurst, who once lived at 8 Russell Square – now the site of Kimpton Fitzroy London.

Illustrated by Fee Greening

This collection of fine bone china plates has been beautifully illustrated by Fee Greening to celebrate the unsung feminine rights heroes of Bloomsbury. Each design honours women whose courage, creativity, and conviction helped shape the fight for equality.

Fee Greening is a dip pen and ink illustrator inspired by medieval illuminated manuscripts and gothic fairytales. A graduate of Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art, she brings her intricate style to this special collaboration.

History For Your Home

This limited-edition plate collection will be on display in Fitz’s Parlour from 10th October. The Parlour is open daily from 8 am to 10 pm to both hotel guests and the public, visitors are invited to admire the collection free of charge, while enjoying a coffee or a cocktail.

The collection of plates will also be available to purchase from Kimpton Fitzroy London for £130. £20 from the sale of each set of plates will be donated to our local charity partner, Coram, which supports children’s rights and wellbeing through legal support, advocacy, adoption, and educational and cultural programmes.
